Arjun Lal Biography

Arjun Lal is an upcoming actor of Malayalam who made his hero debut with Asha Black in 2014. Earlier he made his debut as a teenager playing Mohanlal’s son in critically acclaimed movie, Thanmatra in 2006. For his outstanding performance in Thanmatra, Arjun received Kerala state special jury award. Later he concentrated on to his studies and was working as a business professional in Bangalore for a short period, before he made a comeback to Malayalam cinema. Asha Black was also released in Tamil titled Nee Naan Nizhal and Ishita plays his female lead in this romantic thriller. He plays the role of Rohit, a guitarist in this movie. However the movie directed by debutant John Robinson received negative response from critics.

Arjun’s entry to film world was just co-incidence. He comes from a non-filmy background. He acted in Thanmatra just after the completion of his schooling. He attended its auditions while at Dubai and it was an acquaintance of Arjun, a cameraman of movies who told him about the film auditions for the movie Thanmatra. Arjun attended the auditions and was selected for the role of Mohanlal’s son. Getting a big break to Mollywood through a Mohanlal movie and after receiving a state award, however Arjun kept himself away from limelight and decided to complete his studies. Though he received many film offers, he didn’t accept any roles.

He later completed MBA and worked in Bangalore for 2 years. Then he felt that it’s the right time to join movies. He got a call from the director John Robinson who asked him to come to Kochi. He nodded yes after hearing film script.
