Anup Revanna Biography

Anup Revanna is an Indian film actor who works in Kannada cinema. He is the son of Congress Politician H. M. Revanna and Vatsala Revanna, but politics never fascinated him. Instead he wanted to become an actor. He joined film industry in the year 2016, where he played the titular role for the Kannada film, Lakshmana. It was a remake of 2005 Telugu film, Athanokkade directed by R. Chandru. His second film, Naa Panta Kano directed by S. Narayan was released in 2017. It’s a remake of Tamil heist film, Rajathandhiram. The movie also called Panta had a released release.

 

Anup Revanna was born on 8 February 1994 in Bangalore into a family with political background. Soon after he completed his engineering degree in Automobile Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore in 2015, he pursued a career in films. He has been drawn towards theater and cinema since young. He started appearing in stage plays since the age of 11, and dreamt of acting since young. Before completing his graduation itself, he got an offer from Tamil films. But the film didn’t take off. So in 2014 Anup dropped his studies and learnt acting from Koothu-P-Pattarai, Chennai. He also learnt basics of Kung fu from Yantai, China. He completed engineering in 2015.

 

He marked his film debut with 2016 film, Lakshmana. He was launched to films by his parents, and the movie was produced by his mother. Meghana Raj was the heroine of the film. He received positive reviews for his performance and also received a nomination at SIIMA Award for Best Debutant – Male. The film was given ‘A’ certificate by censor board, as the filmmaker was not willing to cut two shots.
