Anna Rajan Biography

Anna Rajan, previously known as Anna Reshma Rajan is a budding actress of Malayalam. In 2017 she made her film debut with the hit and critically acclaimed film, Angamaly Diaries. A nurse by profession, she is currently working on a movie directed by Lal Jose. The movie is titled Velipadinte Pusthakam and she is to play female lead opposite Mohanlal in her second film. The movie is the first venture of Lal Jose and Mohanlal together, and for Anna, it’s a dream come true to pair with the most popular actor of Malayalam cinema.

Anna Reshma Rajan has been a nurse by profession before her entry to films. She was working at Rajagiri hospital in Kochi when she was called for the audition of Angamaly Diaries. She was pursuing her dreams of a nursing job abroad and planning to settle there with her family when she was called for audition, which changed her life. She was one among the many whose faces appeared in a hoarding all over Kerala and the director who saw it believed that her face suits well for the lead role. But the director could contact her only after many attempts and finally got it.

She marked her acting debut in 2017 with the film, Angamaly Diaries directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The movie marked the acting debut of 86 actors, with Anna one of them. Just co-incidence, she essayed a nurse’s role in the film. Her role as Lilly David or simply Lichi was well appreciated, and among her fans, she is best known as Lichi than Anna. Lichi is one of the three heroines in the film, which received rave reviews.

Since she has been casted to Mohanlal starrer Velipadinte Pusthakam, Anna made her name a little bit short. Now she is Anna Rajan after deleting the middle word. She is to play Marry Miss, a college teacher and assistant professor in her second film, and the shooting has started planting trees in the campus of St. Xavier’s College, Thumba, Thiruvananthapuram. Mohanlal essays wise principle Micheal Idikula in this flick. Since it’s the first movie of Mohanlal and Lal Jose together, and all the Mohanlal releases in the recent times have fared well, Velipadinte Pusthakam is already in news. Priyanka Nair, Salim Kumar, Kalabhavan Shajon, Siddique, Alencier Ley Lopez, Arun and Sarath Kumar play supporting role in this flick.
