Anindita Bose Biography

Anindita Bose is a Bengali film and television actress best known for the movie, Bhooter Bhabishyat in 2012. She played the role of Jhinuk in the popular Bengali television series - Gaaner Oparey and Nalini in "Ogo Bodhu Sundori". She started her career through television and later moved to big screen. She is a popular face on small screen right now. "Clerk", starring Prosenjit was her debut movie. However Bhooter Bhabishyat was her big break to Bengali film industry. Most recently in November 2015, she got married to Film & TV writer and director, Abhimanyu Mukherjee.

Acting was just by chance for this dynamic actress. She graduated in Fine Arts and reached Kolkata in search of a job. She just wanted to become an art director and design sets for films. When she approached Star Salsa, she was asked to do an audition for a role. Though she didn’t know Bengali language then, the head of the Channel insisted her to give audition. She got selected for the Bengali series - Bou katha Kou (2008) and there was no turning back after that. The series was a huge hit, followed by the success of Gaaner Oparey, Adwitiya and Ogo Bodhu Sundori. She became a star on small screen.

While she was shooting for her debut Bengali series, she was offered the first film and she took both of them seriously. ‘The Clerk’ by Subhadro Chowdhury was her debut movie, where she was paired opposite Prosenjit. It was an offbeat movie screened at various film festivals and hence was not a commercial success. She got many film offers. Yet she took extra care while choosing films and she was active in the television at the same time. She got an overwhelming response after the movie - Bhooter Bhabishyat was released. Collection records were low during its first week. But by mouth to mouth publicity, the film slowly picked up at box office. She established her as a star on big screen also.
