Anarkali Marikar Biography

Anarkali Marikar is a young actress associated with Malayalam cinema. She made her debut in 2016 youth-oriented comedy romantic film Aanandam, which was a box office hit. The movie marked the debut of a bunch of young actors to Malayalam cinema. She played the supporting role of Gauri in her second film, Vimanam (2017) which starred Prithviraj in lead role. The movie opened to rave reviews from critics and public alike. Her upcoming releases, Amala and Mandaram are slated to get released in 2018.

Anarkali Marikar hails from Kochi, Kerala. She was born to Nias Marikar, a photographer and Laly P. M, a homemaker. Her younger sister Lakshmi has worked as a child artist in Malayalam movies before. Anarkali is doing graduation course in Mass communication at Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram. She got her first break to films through Anend C. Chandran, a friend to her sister. Anend did the photography of Aanandam, which marked the acting debut of Anarkali. She was earlier offered a role for Lal Jose’s Nee-Naa, which she declined to concentrate on to her studies.

Teenage romantic-comedy Aanandam, which marked her debut in a supporting role was released in 2016, and loved by youngsters. Her role was a geeky girl was well appreciated. Soon she bagged a few more notable supportable roles, and among those, Vimanam got released in 2017. She would be seen paired opposite Asif Ali in the upcoming movie Mandaram. The movie has Asif Ali appear in different get-ups. It’s her first lead role and the film directed by debutant Vijesh Vijay is said to have a strong romance angle. Charlie’s Angel and Amala are other projects. She is to appear in an entirely different avatar in Amala and she will be sharing screen space with Sarat Kumar.
