Ananda Krishnan Biography

Ananda Krishnan is a film director associated with Tamil film industry. He impressed audience and critics with his crime thriller, Metro, which turned out to be one of the finest Tamil movies of the year 2016. His directorial debut Aal also received good reviews from the critics, but was declared a flop at box office. Oxygen is his upcoming release. The shooting has been completed in 2017, and the movie is yet to get released. Aal is a remake of 2008 Hindi film Aamir. His second film Metro was based on the theme of chain snatching in the city of Chennai. It starred Metro Shirish, Bobby Simha, Sendrayan and Nishanth in pivot roles.

Ananda Krishnan hails from Pondicherry. He was born to Arul Mozhi and Rajivee. His brother works with Wipro in US. He is married to Shrilekha since 2017. His brother has always encouraged him to join film stream. His school education was completed in his hometown. He used to write stories since school days. He also won many prizes in speech competitions. He moved to Chennai to do his graduation in Visual Communication.  

He started his career as an assistant director under Susi Ganeshan for Vikram starrer Kanthaswamy in the year 2009. He also worked as a co-editor for the same movie. After staying a few years in the industry as an assistant, he marked his directorial debut with Aal in 2014. With the film, Ananda Krishnan made a promising debut in the film industry. However he was in search of a box office hit. His second film, Metro earned him accolades and was a hit. The success of the film earned him fame in the industry.
