Anand Kumar (film Director) Biography

Anand Kumar is a noted screenwriter and film director associated with Bollywood at present. He is also a film producer, who launched his production house Anand Kumar Productions Private Limited. As of now he has directed three films since 2007 - Delhii Heights, Zila Ghaziabad and Desi Kattey. All his films have terribly flopped at box office except Zila Ghaziabad which managed to cover the production cost 7 not a big success, and the director is yet to find his place in Bollywood. But his association with some of the leading and veteran actors of Bollywood like Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty has helped him to hog in limelight for a while. Yet as a director he is still known for his political thriller, Zila Ghaziabad starring Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi, Arshad Warsi and the veteran Paresh Rawal.

Anand Kumar hails from the capital city, Delhi. He was born on 10 December 1970. His childhood days were spent in the capital city, where he completed his schooling, and later he moved to Hyderabad to do his higher studies. He schooled from DTEA School, Lodi Estate, and completed his graduation in Mass Communication from Hyderabad.

As a film director and screenwriter, he debut with Delhii Heights in 2007. The movie was produced by Sivaji Productions, the production banner founded by Sivaji Ganesan nearly 50 years ago. Delhii Heights, produced by Sivaji Ganeshan’s son Prabhu starred Jimmy Sheirgill, Neha Dhupia, Om Puri, Rohit Roy and Simone Singh, with Madhavan playing a guest role. The movie went unnoticed. After the success of his second film Zila Ghaziabad, he launched his production house Anand Kumar Productions Private Limited in 2014, and Desi Kattey was the first movie produced under this banner. He has also started two films - “Juliet” and “Nabbu” with his new production company.
