Amrinder Singh (footballer) Biography

Amrinder Singh is an Indian professional footballer from Punjab. He is associated with professional matches since 2008, and has played for the Indian football clubs such as Pune FC, Bangalore FC, Mumbai city etc. He is a member of Indian national team, and also plays for Indian Super League - professional football league in India. He plays as a goalkeeper for Mumbai City in the Indian Super League. He plays for national team since 2014 and has joined senior team in 2017. He has represented India in 2 international matches as a senior player to his side.

 

Amrinder Singh hails from Mahilpur, Punjab. He was born in 1993. Since young he used to play football. Yet he began to take it as seriously only after he reached 15. He joined Sports Wing Academy in Paldi, Hoshiarpur in Punjab as a striker and since then he has been practising and playing the game consistently. When his coach, Yarvinder Singh noticed his good build and reach, he encouraged him to be a goalkeeper. After that he practised as a goalkeeper for two more years in the academy.

 

Amrinder got selected to Punjab state national team at the under-17 and under-19 levels, during his stay at Sports Wing Academy. He helped his team to win BC Roy Trophy. He attended the trail for Pune Academy and got placed in the under-19 squad. He excelled as a goalkeeper in 2011 season, and got selected to join the first team squad of Pune at the age of 18. Amrinder began the 2013–14 I-League season as Pune's No. 1 goalkeeper. He was signed for Atletico de Kolkata for the 2015 ISL season on loan from Pune, marking a new beginning.
