Amresh Ganesh Biography

Amresh Ganesh is a well-known cine personality associated with Tamil cinema. He is an actor, lyricist, singer and music composer. Amresh is the son of Jayachitra, the popular south Indian actress of 1970s and 1980s. Amresh started off working as an actor in the industry, and appeared in a couple of movies produced by his mother. But later he moved to music. He was first seen as a child artist in 1991 film, Pudhiya Raagam produced by his mother. In 2010 he was launched as hero by his mother through the movie, Naane Ennul Illai. Following the film’s failure, he moved to music and eventually succeeded in the recent times. Currently he owns a handful of projects as a music composer.     

Amresh Ganesh was born on October 15, 1988 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, into a family with both business and filmy background. His father Ganesh is an industrialist while his mother Jayachitra is a well-known actress. Amresh started off his filmy journey as a child artist through 1991 film, Pudhiya Raagam. The movie was written, directed and produced by Jayachitra. The movie marked her directorial debut, and she played lead role too. Thus young Amresh shared screen space with his mother in his screen debut movie. Years later, he was launched as lead hero by his mother in 2010 through Naane Ennul Illai. Jayachitra scripted, produced and directed the movie as well, and also played a role. But the movie was a box office failure.

Naane Ennul Illai marked Amresh’s debut as a successful music composer, lyricist and playback singer. He penned and sang two solos for the album - Naane Ennul Illai Remix and Pirapuna Irakavendum. In 2017, Motta Shiva Ketta Shiv got released, where Amresh played the role of a composer. With the successful music of 2018 film, Bhaskar Oru Rascal he turned a busy composer of Kollywood. Pottu, Garjanai, Yung Mung Sung, Chatru and Veeramadevi are his other released works of 2017 as a composer.
