Amol Kagne Biography

Amol Kagne is a young producer, actor and director, known for his contributions in Hindi and Marathi cinema. He is a theater artist too. Marathi film - Halal and Bollywood film 31st October are his best known works. Kagne started his career with theater as actor, director and writer, and later moved to silver screen. His sister Pritam Kagne is a well-known actress associated with Marathi cinema, who appeared in Bollywood movies and south Indian too. He acted in 14 Academic Theatre Productions, and have scripted and directed a few as well. He owns a family production house, Amol Kagne Films.

He was born in Pune on January 7, 1991. He completed DHELS course from IGNOU, and also his Bachelor of Arts in Drama from Lalit Kala Kendra, Pune. Amol started off his career through theater. He scripted and directed the play ‘Swatantra Mhanje Nakki Kaay ?'. He has performed at many elite drama festivals and theatres such as Prithvi theatre, NSD Delhi etc. He produced the National award winning feature film – Halal, after he started his own production house aside his father and brother, Amol Kagne Films. He is also the recipient of Maharashtra State awards for Halal in best producer category.

Similar to his actress sister, Amol was into medical field prior to his entry in films. He worked as an Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologist at Ayodhya Multi Specialist Hospital. Started his own production house, he recently produced 2 Music albums for Zee Music Company. He appeared in both the movies produced by his production house, and was also seen in Rangel and Government Resolution. Rangel is a Marathi film, while 31st October was shot in Hindi. 31st October was written in the backdrop of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination in 1984.
