Amberdeep Singh Biography

Amberdeep Singh is a Punjabi scriptwriter and dialogue writer turned actor and director. He is a leading name in Punjabi film industry and is a hit film producer too. After completing Master’s degree in theatre and television, he moved to Mumbai and joined television industry as a screenwriter in 2007. He completely switched to Punjabi film industry in 2013, and initially wrote many hit scripts for Punjabi films. Later he earned fame as a character artist as well as hit filmmaker. His first film, Lahoriye won Best debut director Filmfare award and Best director award at PTC Punjabi Film Awards. He has also won multiple awards for screenplays and acting.

Amberdeep Singh hails from Abohar. His active career in acting started in 2007. Chaldi Da Naam Gaadi in 2007 was his first TV show and Chak De Phate in 2008 was his first film as a screenwriter. Jatt & Juliet 2 in 2013 marked his debut in Punjabi cinema in full swing, and since then he has been fully active in Punjabi film industry handling multiple roles, and he succeeded as an actor and director as well. Laung Laachi earned him Best Debut Actor Awards at PFA.

Love Punjab, Sarvann, Lahoriye, Harjeeta, Ashke, Bhajjo Veero Ve, Laiye Je Yaarian etc are some of the character roles he played on big screen. It includes his directorial ventures and film scripts as well. Jodi and Je Jatt Vigar Geya are his upcoming films as a film director. During his school days he was a wrestler. But an injury ended his sports dreams. He is married to Amamdeep Kaur and has one son and one daughter.
