Allu Aravind Biography

Allu Aravind is a film producer and distributor of Telugu film industry. Badrinath (2011), 100% Love (2011), Magadheera (2009) and Ghajini (2008 – Hindi) are the big blockbuster hits produced by Allu. He is the son of noted comedian of Telugu cinema yesterdays - Allu Rama Lingaiah. Allu Arjun and Allu Sirish – the well-established actors of present Tollywood are his sons. Chiranjeevi is his brother-in-law. He is also the uncle of Ram Charan Teja. He has also produced the Hindi remake of Tamil hit - The Gentleman (1994) starring Chiranjeevi and Juhi Chawla in pivot roles. He is also engaged in politics and associated with Prajarajyam Party founded by Chiranjeevi, his brother-in-law. He has served as the general secretary for the party and has good bonds with the party president Chiranjeevi.

Allu Aravind was born on 10 January 1949. He produces films under his production company Geetha Arts with his brother in law, Chiranjeevi. The production company has delivered many blockbuster hits in Telugu, the noted one being Magadheera, which is known as one of the expensive movies ever made on Indian screen. The movie starred Chiranjeevi’s son -      Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Aggarwal in pivot roles. The movie was one of the highest grossing Telugu movies of all time, collecting 78.1 crore Indian rupees.

Allu’s association with Chiranjeevi is quite popular – both in film making as well as politics. He contested Lok Sabha elections from Anakapalli constituency as a candidate of Prajarajyam Party in 2009. But after his defeat, he resigned his position as the general secretary of the party. However Chiranjeevi insisted on his comeback to the same position and thus was once again installed in his post by his brother-in-law.
