Akshat Singh Biography

Akshat Singh is a child actor of Malayalam cinema, best known for playing Mottu in Malayalam film – Ayal jnanalla, starring Fahadh Faasil and Mrudula Murali. He played Mrudula’s younger brother in this movie. Akshat is a familiar face to small screen audience earlier. He came to prominence after contesting in the reality show India's Got Talent and became an overnight sensation. His videos went viral over net and he has also contested in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 7). He has also appeared in several dance shows like Dance Bangla Dance in 2011 and American talk show ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’. Most recently he appeared in a Japanese ad and is to make his Bollywood debut with the third installment of Debangg, starring Salman Khan.

He was born on 21st April 2005 in Liluah, West Bengal. Zee Bangla show Dance Bangla Dance in 2011 was his first appearance for a TV show. Since then he regularly appears in reality contests, based on dance forms. Singh currently lives in Mumbai and studies in 4th grade. He performed on a medley of his favourite actor Salman Khan's songs on India's Got Talent which went viral over net. He was spotted by Malayalam director Vineeth Kumar, after seeing him in a reality show. Ayal jnanalla marked actor Vineeth Kumar’s directorial debut and Akshay was to play the pivot role of Mottu, which he did quite convincingly. Initially Akshay was quite surprised when he received a call from Malayalam director.

The director himself choreographed his three-minute long dance sequence (Ek Chatur Naar from the movie Padosan) to showcase his dancing talents and young Akshat spellbound everyone with his spectacular performance as a superb dancer. Akshat learnt a few Malayalam words to deliver the dialogues and he spent one month in Gujarat with the film crew for its shooting. Now he has a promising Bollywood career ahead.
