Abhinayashree Biography

Abhinayashree is a noted south Indian actress known for character and supporting roles. Started off with item roles, she moved to character roles with the film – Hungama. In 2006, she received Nandi Award for Best Female Comedian for the Telugu film - Paisalo Paramatma. Quite active in the Telugu film industry, she has also acted in some Kannada and Tamil movies. After a small break, she returned with two Tamil movies, Palakkattu Madhavan and Sankarapuram. She is known for glamorous roles and item numbers. Abhinaya is the daughter of actress cum dancer of 1980s, Anuradha who has been featured in many item songs and acted in over 700 films.

Abhinayashree, shortly called Abinaya was born on 6 August 1988 in Chennai. Her mother Anuradha has been one of the familiar faces of south Indian film industry in the 1980s who gave numerous item numbers. Similar to mother, Abhinaya too started with item numbers and got a small role in 2001 Tamil hit – Friends. In 2003, she got her first lead role – Kannada film Kariya, where she was paired with Darshan Thoogudeep which proved to be a major success. Yet she failed to get good offers from the industry and started accepting item roles. She appeared in a song sequence of Arya, aside Allu Arjun - "Aa Ante Amalapuram" which turned out to be a chartbuster. Since then she received only similar dance numbers which she reluctantly accepted.  

She was taken out of the ‘item girl’ shell by the director, S.V Krishna Reddy who picked up the established item girl for a neat role in Hungama, which was a major breakthrough. Since then she started receiving supporting roles including some comic ones. 2007 Telugu film Adivaram Adavallaku Selavu and Paisalo Paramatma are among her memorable roles.
