Aari (actor) Biography

Aari is a popular actor of Tamil cinema at present, known for the movies - Nedunchaalai (2014) and Maya (2015). He made his acting debut through Rettaisuzhi (2010), a Shankar’s production venture directed by Thamira. The veterans K.Balachander and Bharathiraja came together for the first time in Rettaisuzhi, where Aari played the role of youngster Murthi. After the much hyped release, the movie received mixed response from critics and audience.

He is a resident of Palani, born in 1986. He has been associated with theatre before his foray into movies. He has worked with Magic Lantern, Theatre Nisha and Inland Theatres, as an actor as well as a fitness trainer. In the mid-2000s, he also worked as assistant director for a few movies. He worked with highly acclaimed Malayalam director T. V. Chandran for his Tamil film, Aadum Koothu in 2005, which bagged numerous awards including National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. He also played a cameo role in the film. After a stint in theatre, he made his film debut with 2010 movie – Rettaisuzhi which was a box office failure. He was paired with Anjali for the movie, which included the veterans K.Balachander and Bharathiraja in the star cast.

His next release was Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey in 2012, where he was paired with noted model Shubha Phutela for the lead role. The movie with negative reviews bombed at box office without any traces. But with the 2014 release, Nedunchaalai (2014) he returned back in a bang and the movie which was highly praised by critics was a sleeper hit. He was paired with Malayalam actress, Shivada Nair who entered Tamil cinema through this movie. Then he played a pivot role in Nayantara starrer Maya, which received rave reviews. Most recently in November 2015, Aari got married to Nadhiya, HR Professional at Chennai.
