Aalap Raju Biography 
Aalap Raju is an Indian playback singer who has sung in many movies. He is also a bass player and has won awards for his skillful performance. He has worked with many music directors such as Harris Jayaraj, G.V. Prakash, Sreekanth Deva and D. Imman, etc.
Aalap Raju was born on 6th June 1979 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. He belongs to a family of singing background. His father’s name is J. M. Raju and his mother’s name is Latha Raju. Both of them are playback singers in Malayalam. His grandmother Shantha P. Nair was a popular singer during 1960s and 1970s. He learned music all by himself.
Saarang is a popular cultural event in India and this helped him to get famous. This event was hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology and they honored him with the Best Instrumentalist award for his skills in bass playing. He has conducted many live performances and recording sessions in many parts of India and abroad.
He has worked with many famous artists and he formed a band along with Rahul Nambiar, the playback singer which he named Rahlaap. The first multi-genre album of Rahlaap has been released. Some of the films in which he has worked include Bale Pandiya, Engeyum Kadhal, Ayyanar, Ko, Vanthaan Vendraan, Soolam, Thambi Kottai, Nanban, Mudhal Idam, Kaantham, Kattupuli, Kandhireega, Oru Kal Oru Kannaadi, Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal, Thadaiyara Thaakka, Sridhar, Mugamoodi, Maatraan, etc.
