A. P. Arjun Biography

A. P. Arjun is a young director, screenwriter and lyricist associated with Kannada film industry. He made his debut into the industry in the year 2006 as a lyricist through the movie, Thangigagi and made his directorial debut with 2009 film Ambari. With his second film Addhuri in 2013, he established as a successful young director of the industry. Mr. Airavata and Rhaatee, both released in 2015 are his other directorial ventures. A multi-talented and hgighy skilled young artist, Arjun has completed one decade in the Kannada film industry.

 

He belongs to Mandya, Karnataka. He was born in the year 1984. Thangigagi (2006) marked his debut as a lyricist. The following year he worked as an associate director for the movie, Snehana Preethina. He wrote lyrics for a few movies like Yuga in 2007, he started his career beginning as a screenwriter and director in the year 2009 with the film Ambari, which received rave reviews from critics. The movie starred Yogesh and Supreetha in lead roles and went on to become the first movie of the year to complete 100 days. The movie belonged to romantic genre and he penned its lyrics as well. The film included the popular track, "Yaare Nee" penned by him. Since then he pens lyrics for his movies apart from other ventures.  

 

In 2013 Addhuri was released. The movie won multiple nominations and awards at many award functions. He won Best director award from SIIMA, Suvarna Film Award and Udaya Film Award, apart from a nomination at Filmfare. He also won Best lyricist award at SIIMA. The movie included a few popular tracks like "Cinderalla", "Thu Antha", "Mussanje Veleli","Chitthara" etc all penned by Arjun. Muddu Manase, Endendigu, Rhaatee and Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari are among his recent works as a lyricist.
