A. K. Sajan Biography 
A. K. Sajan is a successful screenwriter associated with Malayalam film industry. He made his directorial debut with highly praised film, Stop Violence in 2002. He is the screenwriter of Malayalam classic – Dhruvam (1993) starring Mammootty and most of his films belong to action and investigation thriller category. Other popular film scripts include - Butterflies (1993 film), Kashmeeram (1994), Crime File (1999), Chinthamani Kolacase (2006), Nadiya Kollappetta Rathri (2007) etc. Associated with the sucecs scripts of Mohanlal and Mammootty in the 1990s, in the 2000s he gave some outstanding scripts to superstar Suresh Gopi starrer movies too.
A. K. Sajan began his career as a story writer in the late 1980s. His younger brother A K Santhosh has also given a few memorable scripts to Malayalam, apart from one bilingual. Jayaram starrer comedy hits - Sooryaputhran and Minnaminuginum minnukettu in the late 1990s need special mention. Started off as a story writer, he weaved the script of Malayalam classic Dhruvan in the early 1990s. He completed the script in 1991 and approached Joshey. The script was accepted and Dhruvan became a huge blockbuster in 1993, establishing the super stardom of Mammootty.
After the serious theme of Dhruvam, he scripted light hearted entertainer Butterflies. Butterflies (1993) starring Mohanlal and Kashmeeram (1994) starring Suresh Gopi are also considered the major hits of both these actors in the first half of 1990s. Though known for serious themes, he has also experimented with comedy genres. Though he stood as one of the successful screenwriters of 1990s, with the new era his career started degenerating.
He later moved to direction field, marking his debut with Stop Violence in 2002, which was a major hit. But his later releases - Lanka, Pampa and Asuravithu heavily suffered at box office. Puthiya Niyamam – is his upcoming thriller film starring Mammootty in the lead role.
