Veda Krishnamurthy Biography 
Veda Krishnamurthy is an Indian cricketer from Karnataka. She is a member of national team of women since 2011. A stroke player of woman’s cricket she is a right-handed batswoman and bowls right-arm leg break. She made her debut in international cricket at the age of 18, and played her first ODI against England on 30 June 2011. She has played a total of 43 ODIs and 38 T20s scoring 787 and 507 runs respectively. She has played for Karnataka in domestic cricket during her initial years and currently associated with railways since 2015. She has been signed by Australia’s Hobart Hurricanes team most recently in 2018.
Veda Krishnamurthy was born on 16 October 1992 in Kadur, Chikkamagaluru District, Karnataka. Her father is a cable operator. She started playing street cricket when she was just three. She is the youngest of four siblings in her family. She was enrolled for karate classes during her childhood days, but she disliked it. She earned a black belt in karate at the age of 12. But martial arts definitely helped her to build up her body strength later, through strict regimes, which also helped a lot in maintaining fitness in her cricket career. Since young Mithali Raj was her role model.
She started formal cricket training in the Karnataka Institute of Cricket in 2005. Her talents were noticed by institute's director Irfan Sait who advised her father to take her to Bangalore so that she receives better coaching. He was Veda’s first cricket coach too. From a small town of Chikkamagaluru, the family shifted to the big city Bangalore. She continued coaching from Apurva Sharma and Suman Sharma. In 2011 she played her first international match for team India against England and since then has been a part of the national side.
