Ram Kamal Mukherjee Biography 
Ram Kamal Mukherjee is a film journalist and critic from Kolkata, best known for biography book about Bollywood actress Hema Malini, Hema Malini - Diva Unveiled released in 2005. The foreword of the book was written by Amitabh Bachchan. The book earned him Kalakar award in 2005. As a successful journalist, he has been associated with Screen, The Asian Age, Stardust and the Mumbai Mirror. He also served as Vice-President of Pritish Nandy Communications, an entertainment, news and media content corporation known for producing TV shows and movies.
Ram was born in Kolkata on September 13, 1976. He watched Hema Malini movies since childhood and developed an interest in watching her movies. It was his father Jaydeb Mukherjee who identified young Ram’s interest and potential in writing, and encouraged him too. He suggested to write about his favourite subject to Screen (now Hotstar), which was interestingly Hema Malini. The letter got published in newspaper and thus Ram started his career as a freelance journalist in 1995. He was appointed as the sub editor for The Asian Age in Kolkata in 2001. He became Senior Correspondent at Stardust magazine and moved to Mumbai.
As a reporter of Stardust, he got opportunity to meet Hema Malini in person and interview her. He was asked by Nari Hira to write a book about her, and that’s how the biography work of his most favourite actress, Hema Malini materialized. He also interviewed many people related to Hema Malini, while writing the book. He later joined the tabloid Mumbai Mirror as an Assistant Editor, and also worked with Pritish Nandy Communications. He served as a columnist for different magazines and publications. Most recently he released the short story collection Long Island Iced Tea, which includes 8 stories.
