Anna M. M. Vetticad Biography

Anna M. M. Vetticad is a leading journalist and famous film critic of present times. Also known for her left-liberal socio-political affiliations and her feminist sociocultural and political dissections, she has often got into a few controversies and has been a victim of trolls, most recent one being the saga following her bad reviews of Bahubali 2: The Conclusion. She also expresses her views especially about film industry and also racism in North-South India. She was the jury member of the 7th Filmsaaz, International short film festival.

 

Anna M. M. Vetticad is of Kerala origin. She was born in Delhi on 2 June 1975, and was brought up in North India. After studies she started her journalist career in 1994 joining India Today and worked there till 2002. She was associated with The Indian Express for three years since 2002 before she switched over her working medium to television. She joined the news channel, Headlines Today and worked there till 2011. She also writes columns in leading Indian English newspapers like India Today, The New Indian Express, The Indian Express, and The Hindu and has authored one book titled The Adventures of an Intrepid Film Critic, which she dealt with Bollywood.

 

She frequently gives film reviews, and also reviews song sequences. She was harassed online for her bad reviews of Bahubali 2: The Conclusion when she rated and gave the movie only 2.5 out of 5. For the online sexual harassment and abuse of film critic Anna M M Vetticad, she received support from Network of Women in Media, India. She is also a visiting faculty of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi.
