Padmanabhapuram Palace is located in the Padmanabhapuram Fort and is located at the foot of the Veli Hills. The palace includes various structures like Mantrasala, Thai Kottaram, Nataksala, Thekee Kottaram and a four storied building at the center of the Palace complex. Mantrasala is the beautiful part with windows with colored mica and lattice work all over the chamber.

Thai Kottaram is the mother’s palace that is built of traditional Kerala style and was constructed in the middle of the 16th century. Nataksala is the new building constructed in the first half of 19th century at the behest of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal. The royal treasury is in the ground floor and King’s bedrooms are located in the first floor. The painting gallery, brass lamps, wooden cot made of medicinal tree trunks and a variety of weapons are the main attractions at this palace.
