Neyyar Dam is constructed across the River Neyyar in 1958 and is one of the famous picnic spots. There is a beautiful lake here. It is a gravity type of dam and is the home to many wild animals such as elephants, sambar deer, sloth bear, Nilgiri Tahr, jungle cat and langur.

There are many tourist attractions in Neyyar Dam such as boating, lion safari, deer park, crocodile rehabilitation and research center, miniature wildlife sanctuary, lake garden, swimming pool and watch tower.
