Sitanadi Sanctuary was established in the year 1974 and it spreads over an area of about 556 square kilometers. The River Sitanadi flows through this region and it is called by this name. The sanctuary is rich in flora and fauna and many trees such as Tendu, Harra, Mahua, Sal, Bamboo and Teak are found here. It also houses many varieties of birds and animals. Some of the animals seen here are antelopes, black buck, monkey, nilgai, leopard and deer. Some common birds found at this place are egrets, parrots, bulbul and tree pie.
