Raipur has a tropical wet and dry climate which remains moderate all round the year except during summers which quite hot. The three important seasons of Raipur are summer, monsoon and winter.

Raipur Climate in Summer Season

The summer season in Raipur starts in late February and lasts till May and the temperature shoots up to 45 degree Celsius at this time. The climate is very hot and dry and the scorching heat of the sun makes it unfit for outdoor activities.

Raipur Climate in Winter Season

The winter season in Raipur is mild and pleasant and has a minimum temperature of 12 degree Celsius. The nights are cooler and chilly. The city gets very little rainfall during winter season. There is no snowfall and the climate attracts the tourists and so the city is full of life.

Raipur Climate in Monsoon Season

The average annual rainfall of Raipur is 1330 mm. The monsoon season starts in June and lasts till September. In October, the city receives some post monsoon showers. July is the wettest month and very less or no tourist activities are seen during the months of June, July and August. The outdoor trips become difficult during this time.
