Laxman Temple is located on the banks of the Mahanadi River. It was built during the 7^th century AD and is one of the impressive works of that time. The dainty carvings add grace to the temple. The walls are filled with erotic carvings and ornate symbolic works related to the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and Krishna. The temple has a Mandap, Antraal and Garbha Griha which are the shelter, passage and the main house respectively. The archaeological excavations at this place were preserved in museum.
