Tapovan is a pictorial spot which was once the part of the Dandakaranya Forest. The place is noted for its lush green vegetation and tranquil ambience. This place has legendry importance and is used by the sages for meditation. During Sinhastha Kumbhamela many Sadhus living here go to take bath in River Godavari. Nearly 25,000 Sadhus stay here at that time.
