Saptashrungi is a pilgrimage spot where the goddess Saptashrungi Nivasini is believed to live within the seven mountain peaks. The temple is one of the 51 shakti peethas of India and the Devi here on the rock is said to be Swayambhu. She is also known as Mahishasur Mardini.
