Ramkund is located in the banks of the sacred river Godavari. It is believed that Lord Rama came to this place to take bath and so thousands of devotees throng here every year. Chitrarao Khatarkar built a holy tank in this place in 1696. The people immerse the ash of the dead of their beloved with a strong belief that this will help them to attain salvation. The River bends perpendicularly in this region and is considered to be a holy spot.
