The Kalaram Temple is dedicated to Lord Rama in black color. The sanctum sanctorum has the statues of god Rama and Lakshmana and goddess Sita. Thousands of people visit this temple every day and it is one of the oldest temples and was built in the year 1788. The temple also has historic importance as Dr. Ambedkar launched his protest for allowing the Dalits into the temple.
