Private Residential Museum gives you an insight into the life and lifestyle of the Wodeyars of Mysore and this museum is located adjacent to the Mysore Palace. This had been set up by Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wodeyar, the heir of the Mysore throne.

The museum houses all the personal collections of the royal family and you can visit the living room of Krishnaraja Wodeyar with carved doors and pillars with gold leaf painting and stained glass window panes. You can also see the paintings of Mysore school, the palanquins used by the kings and queens, ornamental furniture, pooja items, costumes, awards and trophies.
