The cheapest means of local transportation in Lucknow is buses. Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation runs buses all over the city. It has a fleet of 300 buses all run by CNG. They are very cheap and they run through 35 routes in the city. Gudamba, Virajkhand, Engineering College, Charbagh, Alambagh, Andhe Ki Chowki and Scooter India are some of the bus terminals. There are 4 bus depots in the city located in Gomti Nagar, Charbagh, Amausi and Dubagga.

Taxis and rickshaws serve the purpose of local transportation. And there are many car rental companies offering cars for hire. You can book them online in advance if you are expecting airport pickup. Auto rickshaws and cycle rickshaws are cheaper options.
