Phyang Monastery is located in the west of Leh and was established in 1515 AD. It is believed that this was established by Tashi Chozong. There are many sacred shrines within this monastery and has frescos dating from royal time period. It also has a 900 years old museum that has extensive collection of idols including Kashmiri bronzes that date back to 14th century.
