Monastery Circuit includes many Buddhist Gompas such as Matho Monastery, Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery and Namgyal Tsemo Monastery. Each one of these monasteries has their unique style of architecture and different specialties. For example, the Hemis Monastery is the biggest one here and it has a large painting of Lord Buddha which could be seen only once in 12 years.
