Matho Monastery or Madho Monastery is located at the Zanskar Range in Matho village. This monastery was established in 16th century by Lama Dugpa Dorje and it belongs to the Sakya order. The four hundred year old Thangkas are famous here and the festival of Matho Nagrang is celebrated here in grand manner.

There is an assembly hall in the building that was constructed in 1970 and it has plain paintings of Lord Buddha on all its corners of the verandah. There is a small chapel that has the paintings of Sakya Pandita. Many old thangkas were found in the adjoining museum. Many of these thangkas were brought from Tibet during 16th century.
