The Tibetan descent Kal-dan Shes-rab constructed Dukhang. It is an attractive structure with elaborately carved doorways and beautiful designs. The tiny Bodhisattvas and guardian figures were carved on them. The image of Vairocana is the important attraction of this place. The image of Buddha is found here in four main manifestations around the main image.

The Alchi’s temple is decorated with wall paintings and murals. The image of Mahakala that depicts the timelessness, deathlessness and eternity is found in the south wall above the doorway. Among the four manifestations, blue color Buddha represents Akshobya or unshakable belief and the red color Buddha depicts Amitabha or boundless radiance, the Buddha in yellow symbolizes Ratnasambhava or the birth of a jewel and the Buddha in green is a symbol of Amoghasiddhi or unfailing success.
