Changtang is famous for its wildlife sanctuary and is the home of many rare species of flora and fauna. There are two large lakes here namely Tsomoriri and Pangong Tso. The world’s highest inhabited village, Karzok village is located on the southwest bank of Tsomoriri. There are more than 200 species of plants are grown here. The Changtang Cold Desert Wildlife Sanctuary also has many rare animals like Tibetan wild ass and black necked crane.
