Shivkhori is well known for its cave shrines and is located in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. There are many popular shrines in this area namely Mata Vaishno Devi, Merhaa Mata, Baba Dhansar and Siad Baba.

Khori means cave and the name Shiv Khori means the cave of Shiva. This is a natural cave about 200 meters in length and about one meter in width and two to three meters in height. It is a self made lingam. 300 devotees can enter the cave at a time and the outer chamber is very spacious and the inner chamber is smaller.

There are many natural objects inside the cave resembling Lord Shiva, Parvati, Ganesha and Nandigan. To reach the sanctum sanctorum people have to stoop low and crawl inside. It is believed that the cave leads to Swami Amarnath cave.  The legend says that 33 crores of deities live inside this cave in the form of pindis. Shivkhori mela is conducted for three days during the time of Maha Shivratri and thousands of pilgrims visit the place during that time.
