Anna Square is the place of burial of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. C.N. Annadurai. Adjacent to this is the memorial of another former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. M.G. Ramachandran.

The mortal remains of Annadurai are placed at the northern end of Marina Beach. The entrance is designed like the tusks of the elephant and there is an eternal flame kept in the pillar like structure near the tomb. The park spreads over an area of 510 hectares. Near this there lies a safari park, a nocturnal animal house, an aquarium and a museum.
