There are many things to do in Chennai starting from shopping to loitering around the beaches. Chennai has various attractions that cater to different types of people and so people of all age groups have their own things to do in Chennai.



1. Shopping in Chennai: There are many malls in Chennai that will give you unique shopping experience. Some of them are given below.


Spencer Plaza: Located in Mount Road, it spreads over 125,000 square feet and has more than 400 shops. This fully air-conditioned mall sells many international brands.


Gold Mall: This is a newly opened mall dedicated to gold and jewelry items.


The City Center: It spreads over an area of 1,50,000 square feet and houses many entertainment destinations.


Alsa Mall: Located in Egmore, this is one of the best malls in Chennai selling branded items.


Fountain Plaza: Situated in Pantheon Road, Egmore, it sells garments,footwear, electronics and many other items.


Hameedia Shopping Mall: Located in Triplicane High Road, all the home appliances are available under one roof.


Prince Plaza: It is situated in Purasawalkam High Road and is a good place for shopping and also has restaurants within its complex.


Other malls in Chennai are Pantaloons, Lifestyle, Westside, Burma Bazaar, Raahat Bazaar, Shopper’s Stop, Abirami Mall, Wellington Plaza, etc.


The Government Emporiums in Chennai is a good place for shopping ethnic items and handicrafts. The Cane’s Bamboo at Egmore offers beautiful bamboo crafts at cheaper prices.


2. Take a walk along the Marina Beach and you can reach the Elliot’s Beach located at a distance of 8 kilometers. This walk in the fresh atmosphere will rejuvenate your senses.


3. Visit Pondy Bazaar and you will like to purchase some cosmetic items and trinkets.


4. Spend time on the full moon day at Thiruvanmiyur beach. You can drink the beauty of the silent sea gleaming in the moonlight.



5. Koyambedu vegetable market is very famous and crowded. Take a visit there to observe the crowd and to buy vegetables.


6. Watch a movie in one of the multiplexes like Broadway Talkies or Inox Theatre or Sathyam Cinema.

14. Visit the holy places at Chennai namely Kapaleeswarar Temple at Mylapore, Parthasarathy Temple at Triplicane, ISKCON Temple at Injambakkam, Vadapalani Temple, Armenian Church, Big Mosque, Luz Church, Shri Gujarati Swetambar, etc.


15. Purchase the imported goods and garments at Kasi Chetty Street.



16. Watch a cricket match at the Chidambaram Stadium at Chepauk.
