Bannerghatta National Park is one of the richest zoological reserves and this spreads over an area of 104.27 square kilometers. It is one of the major attractions of the tourists visiting Bangalore.

 

The tiger reserve and the lion reserve of Bannerghatta has various species of tigers and lions and tiger safaris, lion safaris and grand safaris are conducted by the KSTDC. White tiger attracts everyone.

 

There is a small museum within the premises of the zoo that has zoological exhibits. There is a reptile park, Butterfly Park and a small theatre. The butterfly park is the breeding ground of butterflies in its natural environment and it was opened in 2006. It has a butterfly conservatory, museum and audio-visual room. The humid climate is maintained here.

 

Bannerghatta National Park is opened to the visitors from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. and is closed on Tuesdays. The best time to visit is from September to January.
