1. Shopping in Agra: If you want to buy souvenirs and keepsakes then you can find the mini replicas of Taj Mahal sold around the complex. The small white marble Taj is used as mementos and decorative items.

 

You can find many handicraft emporiums selling items made of sandalwood, rosewood and ivory. Agra is also famous for handicrafts and garments with zari embroidery work and stone inlays. You can find beautiful Mughal carpets here that are used for prayers.

 

Some of the best places to shop in Agra are Sadar Bazaar, Sanjay Place, Taj Complex, Kinari Bazaar, Raja Mandi, Fuhaara, Lohamandi, etc.

 

2. Do not forget to buy the traditional Agra sweet which is white in color and sugary. It has a very different taste than other Indian sweets. Petha is the sweet that is popular here.

 

3.  Visit Subhash Emporium at Gwalior Street. This is a marble carving shop selling quality product for more than three decades. It is quite interesting to watch the artisans at work here.

 

4. Have a cup full of lassi at the Joney’s Place. They are serving creamy lassi since 1978.

 

5. Visit Anguri Bagh or the Grape Garden built by Shah Jahan in 1637. It was known for harvest choicest grapes all through the year.

 

6. Watch a live show or a play in which the artists are dressed like King Shah Jahan and Queen Mumtaz Mahal at the Kalakriti Cultural and Convention Center.

 

7. Enjoy at the Kaya Kalp Spa located in Hotel ITC Mughal Agra at Taj Ganj. This spa has swimming pool and you can enjoy the luxury though the price is little steep.

 

8. Check out all the places of architectural importance such as Agra Fort having sixteen palaces within it, Itmad Ud Daulah, Fatehpur Sikhri, etc.
