Itmad-ud-Daula’s Tomb is a mausoleum situated near Taj Mahal built during 17th century. It was built with red sandstone and white marble. It was built on the orders of Nur Jahan, the wife of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir for her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg.

 

Itmad-ud-Daula Tomb was built on the left bank of River Yamuna over the fifty meters square base stretching 23 meters square. It was adorned with semi-precious stones such as jasper, onyx and topaz. The cenotaphs of father and mother of Nur Jahan were replicated side by side.
