Yash Tonk Biography

Yash Tonk is an Indian actor who works in television as well as Bollywood. He is a very popular actor on small screen. He was the finalist of reality show of celebrity couples – Nach Baliye 2. He was paired with his wife Gauri for the show. Sangharsh (1999) is one of his earliest Bollywood appearances. He played the role of Love Guru aka Rocky in Shahid Kapoor's debut movie, Ishq Vishq. Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao, Janasheen, Jai Ho, Kucch To Hai, Kisse pyar karoom, Fight Club, Julie and Main Aur Mrs Khanna are other Bollywood appearances.

He played parallel lead with Arshad Warsi and Aashish Chaudhary in suspense thriller, Kisse pyar karoom, released in 2009. It was for the first time he got a lead role in Bollywood movies. The movie’s sequel has been announced. Family Kamaal Ki directed by Neeraj Vohra and Sohail Khan-Amrita Arora starrer Team are his upcoming movies.

Yash Tonk belongs to Sonipat, Haryana. He was brought up at Hisar, where his father worked Chief Security officer in Haryana Agricultural University. His childhood was spent at Hisar, where he completed his education. He is married to Gauri Yadav and together they appeared on reality show, Nach baliye - season 2, where they finished as finalists. He completed his graduation in Delhi. During his graduation, he started his modelling and also appeared in many fashion shows. Then he moved to Mumbai to try luck in modelling and entertainment industry. He got associated with theater in those days.

The music video of `Jai Jai Shiv Shankar` aside Maria Goretti was his earliest break in the industry. He bagged his first television serial `Just Mohabbat` and also appeared in many television commercials. Kunal Sikand in the Balaji soap `Kahiin Kisii Roz` was his big break to small screen. `Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi`, `Karam Apna Apna` and `Kundali’ are his popular roles.
