Vinayak Sasikumar Biography

Vinayak Sasikumar is a young lyricist associated with Malayalam cinema. He is best known for the works of the movies - Guppy, Parava, Godha, Ezra, Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, E, North 24 Kaatham, 7th Day, Karinkunnam 6'S, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha, Pullikkaran Staraa and Mayaanadhi. He made his debut as a lyricist in the movie Kutteem Kolum directed by Guinness Pakru in 2013, and currently a busy artist of the industry. The track 'Gabrielinte' from Guppy penned by Vinayak entered Kerala's pop music as a major Christmas carol song in December 2016. His song Thaniye from the same film earned Sooraj Santhosh Kerala State Award for the Best Male Singer for the first time.

 

Vinayak Sasikumar hails from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He was born to S Sasikumar and Asha Sasikumar on 13 June 1994. He started writing micro poetry at the age of 12, while at school. His graduation was completed at Chennai Loyola College. He also completed his PG in Chennai, and worked as a data scientist for Ford Motors. But he quit his job and returned to Kerala to pursue a career in writing and become a full-time lyricist.

 

In 2013, he got his first break to films, penning the lyrics of Kutteem Kolum. He earned recognition through his second film, Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, and third film, North 24 Kaatham. Later he got associated with many hit films, and associated with new-age film directors. Vinayak wrote the themes of central characters in the Amal Neerad film Iyobinte Pusthakam, a movie with high reviews. Among all his works, Guppy is the most noticed work, and the movie won multiple awards at various award functions, including music awards.
