Veronica Mehta Biography

Veronica Mehta is an Indian R&B singer based in London. Apart from her independent work, she has been associated with several artists, and has also worked in Bollywood movies as a playback singer. "Mere Dil Mein" from 2016 musical hit, Half Girlfriend is her recent Bollywood work. The song had one more dialogue version as well, and she rendered her voice for this track aside R. Rekhi, Yash Anand, Yash Narvekar and Ishita Moitra. Veronica is mostly associated with Rhythm and blues, often abbreviated as R&B or RnB, a genre of popular African-American music. She has released two albums - Rush (2010) and Theen (2005), apart from several singles and collaboration works.

 

Veronica Mehta was born to Indian parents in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She successfully auditioned for the part of female vocalist for the 2Kool album 2Kool Flavor when she was just 16, beginning her professional career. "Sambhala Hai Meine" was her debut song. To pursue a career in music she discontinued her studies. She formed a musical band - VR1, aside the popular pop singer, Rishi Rich. Their band experimented with traditional Asian music and worked on its remixed versions as well, and succeeded. Their R'n'B twist album sold more than 50,000 records in the UK and Europe and earned two Asian Pop Media Awards as well.

 

She was also featured in one of the musical tracks of popular musical film, Hum Tum starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji. The song - "U'n'I (Mere Dil Vich Hum Tum)" was recorded aside Rishi Rich and Juggy D. She has been associated with H-Dhami for “Ne Ajaa Ve" song of Breakaway and "Give It a Go" song by Timbaland for Real Steel. She also released two albums - Rush (2010) and Theen (2005).
