Veena Nair Biography

Veena Nair is a popular film actress associated with Malayalam cinema and television. She made her film debut with 2014 Malayalam film, Vellimoonga directed by Jibu Jacob. She started her television career with Ente Makal, aired on Asianet and now she gives equal preference to movies and TV serials. She is also a trained dancer. In 2009, she won the Film Audience Council Award for the most popular actress. Nilavilakku which was aired on Surya TV gave her initial recognition as an actress. She is associated with comedy shows like Thatteem Mutteem. Akkamma Stalinum Pathrose Gandhiyum, Paadasaram, Panchali House, Indumukhi Chandramathi 2 and Kutty Patturumal Season 2 are her other television appearances.

Veena was born in Kottayam on 21 May 1989. She started formal learning in dance forms at the age of 4. Her mother Lathika is also a good dancer, and she nourished her daughter’s dancing skills. Since school days she actively participated in cultural events and competitions and has won several prizes. She was Kalathilakam of Kottayam district in 2006 at higher secondary level. She got married to singer and dancer Swathy Suresh Bhymi in June 2014. Swathi Suresh was a participant of ‘Star Hunt’ reality show aired on Kairali TV in 2011.

She got her first break through Surya TV. The series went off the air before her scenes were telecasted. Later ‘Makal’ on Asianet marked her acting debut. After doing several grey shaded roles, she came to comedy track through ‘Sanmanasullavarkku Samadhanam’. Apart from Malayalam serials, she has also done one Tamil serial – Thendral on Sun TV. She played the pivot role of Maya in the series. Made her film debut in 2014, she played brief roles in Mollywood films such as Mariyam Mukku, Aadupuliyattam, Chandrettan Evideya, Oru Second Class Yathra and a few more movies.Welcome to Central Jail is her upcoming flick in which she shares screen space with Dileep.
