Varun Unni Biography 
Varun Unni is an upcoming music director of Malayalam movies. Annum Innum Ennum in 2013 marked his debut as a music composer, where he composed one of its songs. “Ayyo” was the song composed by Unni. Though the movie bombed at box office his work was noticed. He became a full-fledged music composer with the latest release – Escape from Uganda in 2014. RIP Return If Possible and Gold’s own country are his upcoming movies. “Smile” is his latest private album with 5 songs, featuring Swetha Mohan.
Varun Unni was born in Kochi in 1989 in a family with non-filmy background. He inspires a lot from international musicians - Bob Marley and Eric Clapton. He completed his schooling from Kochi and also took an Engineering degree from Adi Shankara College of Engineering, Kalady. He learnt music from Kalabhavan, Kochi and later he was associated with many music rock bands. He is a trained Carnatic musician. He exposed himself to all genres and has been a vocalist and drummer of a local band. Soon after Plus two, he composed three albums. But they never got released. Vizhiye was his first released album.
'Annum Innum Ennum' was his debut movie, which happened to be the maiden venture of its director Rajesh Nair as well. He got the offer through Rajesh’s cousin. The promo song topped the charts bringing him to limelight. The song went viral over net, though the movie sank without any trace. His latest work 'Escape from Uganda' received positive response from music lovers. The 24-year-old engineer later went to Uganda to work out details of music for the English and Swahili versions of the film.
