Sweta Singh Biography

Sweta Singh is a famous celebrity on Indian television. She is a journalist, news anchor, Editor and news presenter associated with the 24 hours Hindi news channel AAJ TAK. She completed graduation in Mass Communication from Patna University before starting her career in the media industry. One of the most popular News TV anchors of India she is a media expert who handles variety of issues with ease. Her quality in handling political debates is highly commendable. An expert in sports coverage during her younger days, her show Sourav ka Sixer received best sports program awarded by Sports Journalism Federation of India in 2005. She received Best News Producer Award (Hindi) in ENBA Awards 2013 for the program - Vandemataram.

 

She was born on 21 August 1977. She completed graduation in Mass Communication from Patna University. She married her long term boyfriend - Sanket Kotkar and is now settled in Delhi with their daughter. She started her career during her first year at Patna University itself. She used to write bylines for newspapers like Times of India and Hindustan Times in those days. She covered Bihar extensively as a print journalist in that period. She switched to electronic media in 1998, starting off with ZEE Television. She worked with Zee News and Sahara, before joining Aaj Tak in 2002 and became a shining star for reporting sports news. Sourav ka Sixer was her popular program which won her SJFI awards in 2005.

 

Her dream was to become a documentary maker. However she became a media person. She came to Delhi to seek a job and landed in ZEE Television, beginning a new career in media. She was offered the job in Aaj Tak by Arun Purie, who noticed her talents in Sahara television.
