Sumit Kaul Biography

Sumit Kaul is a noted actor who works in Bollywood movies in supporting roles. He also appears in television soaps and is a stage actor too. He was seen in Bollywood movies – Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Haider, Munna Bhai MBBS, Bumboo and Rockstar, playing small roles. He played the role of Sudarshan in TV soap, Laagi Tujhse Lagan; Justin in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat and Govind in Do Dil Ek Jaan. An active member of Nadira Babbar’s theater group, he has been associated with the group as an actor for long four years.

He played the role of Chota Rajan in Akshay Kumar’s Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai and Dr D'souza in less known movie, Bumboo released in 2013. He was featured as Salman in Shahid Kapoor-starrer 'Haider', and very soon he bagged a negative role of Prince Justin, a half-Greek character in the historic show on television, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. This green eyed actor excelled in the role as Justin for the show. He is active in entertainment industry since year 2000. He was associated with theater before his active entry to films and television. In 2000, he joined Ek Jute, a theatre group started by Nadira Babbar.

This actor with green eyes was born and brought up in Mumbai. He is of Kashmiri origin and his ancestral home is in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. The family used to visit their ancestral home in summer vacation. But later his grandfather sold the home after political upsets in the region. Yet this actor has some nostalgic moments associated with his ancestral home. Later he got opportunity to work for the movie, Haider, which shares some common elements. He became emotional whenever he passed through his ancestral place and dreams to buy a home in Kashmir in future.
